Louise Phelan | Alexander Technique
Louise Phelan was born in Limerick, Ireland, and for over two decades has dedicated her life to sharing the Alexander Technique with people from all walks of life, including musicians, singers, actors, orchestra and choir directors as well as healthcare professionals in Europe and Latin America. She currently lives in Mexico City, where she continues her extensive teaching and artistic work.
The Alexander Technique helps you move with greater freedom, ease, and balance, relieving excess tension and facilitating freer, more integrated movement. It invites you to become aware of your body and your habits, discovering a sense of comfort, confidence, and well-being that extends to daily life. More than a technique, it is a way of living with greater presence, ease, and enjoyment in every gesture and movement, as well as enhancing expressiveness and artistic performance.
The Alexander Technique is fundamental to the healthy development of singers and instrumentalists, and Louise Phelan stands out for her training and stage experience. Her work integrates body and mind with clear results for students and professionals alike. Having such a specialized and bilingual teacher is a privilege, and I wholeheartedly recommend her.
Meeting Louise and learning about the Alexander Technique was a turning point in my journey. It came just as I was searching for new answers and opened up a completely different way of relating to my voice, my body, and my art. Her dedication, sensitivity, and guidance have been fundamental at every stage of my development; thanks to her support, I now approach each project with greater clarity, freedom, and presence.
Learning the Alexander Technique was a turning point in how I sing and how I inhabit my body. Thanks to Louise's teachings, I developed a much deeper awareness of my technique, my emotions, and my stage presence. It's a tool that accompanies me in every audition, every concert, and in my daily life, both on and off stage.

Every time I leave my Alexander session, I feel like I'm floating on air. It's a little difficult to describe that feeling. It's joy and lightness. I know the technique does it, but it's also the person: Louise is a magician. I will always be grateful for this encounter. When I leave the session, I'm in a state of bliss.
